Listening to Don Williams, taking a memory trip back to the lake and night fishing. Not that I did any fishing, one wack in the head with a fish was plenty (thanks Tracy.) I was an endless star gazer. Just country on the radio, cool night breeze on my blistering sunburn, Dad at the front of the boat cussing out the fish that swallowed his hook, and the Milky Way.
This one is dedicated to Dixie, who's just had a really piss ass time of it with the local nutters. I was going to dedicate "Lord I Hope This Day is Good" but that was a little too tongue in cheek. Figured this would make you smile instead :)
I don't believe in superstars, organic food and foreign cars
I don't believe the price of gold, the certainty of growing old
That right is right and left is wrong
That north and south can't get along
That east is east and west is west,
and being first is always best
But I belive in love
I believe in babies
I believe in Mom and Dad
And I believe in you
I don't believe that heaven waits
for only those who congregate
I like to think of God as love,
He's down below, He's up above
He's watching people everywhere,
He knows who does and doesn't care
And I'm an ordinary man,
sometimes I wonder who I am
But I believe in love
I believe in music
I believe in magic
And I believe in you
Well I know in all my certainty
What's goin' on with you and me
Is a good thing
It's true
I believe in you
Well, I don't believe virginity
is as common as it used to be
In working days and sleeping nights,
That black is black and white is white
That Superman and Robin Hood
are still alive in Hollywood
That gasoline's in short supply (ha!),
the rising cost of getting by
But I believe in love
I believe in old folks
I believe in children
(And) I believe in you

Brandi, you are the coolest thing in the world. You totally, totally made my day. It's been an awful week but by God it just got better.
I so love Don Williams. He's one of the best live shows I've ever seen. His songs get me every time.
And aren't summer nights spent stargazing some of the sweetest moment you could ever have?
MWAH! You rock, Brandi!
