Suddenly illiterate
It's pretty strange to go from having decent communication skills to being illiterate overnight.
Spanish class....*sigh* Struggling everyday to remember how to not only SAY "hot dog" but how to spell it. I don't even really like hot dogs, what are the odds I will someday be standing in a town in Mexico and suddenly have a craving for them? "Yo, camerero, me trae una Salchicha" (I think.)
And, do you buy tickets EN el aeropuerto or Al aeropuerto?
Who cares, who cares, do you hear me?? If I ever need to buy tickets in a spanish speaking area, I will be sure to carry around an Atlas...b/c I do at this point know how to point and say "Aqui".
And "Donde esta un margarita?"
or
"Bano! Bano! Madre de Dios, donde esta el bano?!"
What else do I need, I mean, really?
Right now we're learning the Preterite. Preterite is Spanish past tense. Spanish for "that sound is your brain losing density".
I've decided to just skip this part in class. Should I ever need to speak Spanish, I will claim recent amnesia which will eliminate the need for me to EVER use the past tense.
HAHA! See..always thinking, always thinking...
